Lungern-Turren-Schönbüel - the family-friendly destination close to nature
The village of Lungern lies at around 700 metres above sea-level in the Brünig Pass on the Lucerne to Interlaken route in the heart of Switzerland. New, modern and comfortable cabins take you from Lungern to Turren at 1,562 metres above sea-level in just a few minutes, where a wonderful, fascinating world of nature and animals greets you.
In a few minutes from the Turren mountain station, you can easily get to the new walking trail up to the Turrengrat viewpoint. A generous barbecue site and seating area.
On Schönbüel you have views of one of the most imposing mountain ranges in Switzerland with the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau. The well-known Butterfly Trail takes you past meadows full of dog daisies and forest edges down into the valley to Lungern or Kaiserstuhl.
If you are lucky enough to be there at the right time (June to September) you may see more than 100 species of butterfly.
