Whatever the season, a visit to Männlichen offers unforgettable moments close to nature. Just getting there through the Bernese Oberland is an experience in itself. During the journey, the Bernese Alps and then the famous three peaks, the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau, come impressively into view. Männlichen, the mountain with a view, can be accessed by aerial cableway from Lauterbrunnen/Wengen. King for a day : "Royal Walk" up to the top
The Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau rise up majestically: from the top of Männlichen you have a "right royal" view of the world-famous three peaks. But before any king can enjoy victory, he must firstly learn the ropes. The same applies on Männlichen. The new "Royal Walk" runs from the Männlichenbahn mountain station (2,222 metres above sea level) to the summit which is 2,345 metres above sea level. On the way, it pays to discover the natural "kingdom". The trail through the Alpine kingdom starts at the "King's Gate". As they walk, hikers will encounter the court artist, discover the many and varied valuables in the treasure chamber and get to know the royal household. They can explore the different trails leading to the summit of the local sovereign, the Eiger, and find out more about the truly royal Jungfrau-Aletsch UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Swiss Alps. The jewel in the crown awaits them at the end of the Alpine journey of discovery: the summit! A brief detour lasting about 30 minutes to the top of the Männlichen is the crowning glory of your mountain excursion: from there, it is possible to enjoy the majestic panorama and royal views of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau, as well as a 360° view as far as the Swiss Central Plateau region and to the Jura Arc from the viewing platform on the summit of Männlichen. As you walk, there are ample opportunities to sit down, take a break and enjoy your surroundings.
