Trips with BLS - quite simply brilliant!

There is something to suit every taste in the Lötschberg region, as well as plenty to see and experience, whatever the weather. A gentle walk or a fast-paced mountain bike tour? Summer tobogganing with the family or a romantic tête à tête in the Tropenhaus Frutigen? A sociable boat trip or an exciting museum visit? You have plenty of choice in the Lötschberg region.

The BLS RegioExpress Lötschberg train takes you quickly and comfortably to our tourist partners in the Bernese Oberland and Upper Valais, and into the Italian Piedmont region. Even after the opening of the Lötschberg Base Tunnel, the Lötschberg mountain line between the Bernese Oberland and Valais has lost none of its charm. Railway and nature enthusiasts can leave the fast route through the 34.6 kilometre-long base tunnel and instead enjoy magnificent views into the Kandertal valley and the trip over the breathtaking southern Lötschberg ramp viaducts.

There is also plenty to see and experience along this railway line into the “Heimatland” (BLS’s home region): the journey through the middle of the glorious Emmental and rustic Entlebuch, which was recognised in 2001 by UNESCO as the first biosphere reserve in Switzerland.

Along the way, a wide range of options awaits travellers in the form of unspoilt outdoor activities, such as hiking, cycling, treading water, panning for gold and snowshoeing. Also, no way should you pass up the opportunity to enjoy a wholesome meal in a cosy country inn.
