Giessbachbahn

Although the railway has undergone some technical modernisation, it still radiates lots of nostalgic charm and romance, just like it did in 1879. A 345 metre section of funicular railway track climbs up 104 metres, reaching the dreamy Grand Hotel from the hotel's own jetty on Lake Giessbach. The four-minute train journey takes you through woodland, over bridges and alongside waterfalls. Climb on board the oldest funicular railway in Switzerland and visit the Griessbach Falls and Grand Hotel in the same way as people did over 100 years ago.
